Actually I`m not a big candy fan but Werther`s Original are just so tasty that I can`t resist eating them. My grandma always used to carry a few Werther`s in her hand-bag. So every time I felt like something sweet and buttery I pointed on her bag knowing I`d get one. What are they like? I`d define Werther`s Original as a buttery toffee flavored hard candy that is not only sweet but also very creamy. To me they have a perfect blend of ingredients which gives them a taste of rich butter toffee and mild caramels at the same time. It`s such a pleasure to let these candys melt in your mouth ... The ingredients are as follows: sugar, glucose syrup (from wheat or corn), cream, butter, whey, salt, emulsifier soy lecithin, artificial flavour: vanillin This contains milk, soybeans and wheat. You should note this in case you are allergic to any of these ingredients. Packaging and Price: The packaging is a creamy light caramel color with a red band through the center. It shows a picture of a town and 2 cups of cream pouring out.The bottom of the bag is decorated with many individual pieces of Werther's Originals and last but not least the top of the bag shows the candy's name. Each candy is wrapped individually in a gold colored foil. When you open the wrapper you`ll see a caramel colored hard candy. The packet costs around £1 in most supermarkets. Nutritional Facts: One serving of Werther's Originals (3 pieces) contains - Calories 70 - Fat 1.5 g - Saturated Fat 1 g - Cholesterol 5 mg - Sodium 45 mg - Carbs 14 g - Sugar 10 g Other Werther`s options available: Werther's Original Minis sugar free Werther's Original Cream Toffees Werther’s Original Eclair Werther’s Original Creamy Filling (Surely worth trying ... .) Conclusion: If you like the taste of toffee as well as hard candy I`m sure you will enjoy these. |
