According to Mc Vities description: “Go Ahead Forest Fruit Yogurt Breaks are a mouth-watering yoghurt flavour topping on a delicately crafted light crispy biscuit -packed with a choice of full fruit fillings & juicy sultanas.” I couldn`t give a better description than this one. Indeed, they are ... 1. ... a mouth- watering yoghurt flavour topping: There`s a thin, slightly pink layer of forest fruit flavoured yoghurt on one side of the biscuit. It is sweet and slightly sour at the same time but it doesn`t overpower the fruit taste. 2. ...on a delicately crafted light crispy biscuit: They are definitly for you if you like a bit of a crispy crunch. Wrapped in a foil packaging they are always kept fresh and crisp. 3. ... packed with a choice of full fruit fillings & juicy sultanas: The fruit filling is evenly spread throughout the biscuit so you are not left with one end plain. It is sweet and dominated by the taste of sultanas. Because you have the slightly sour yoghurt, the sweet fruit and the neutral biscuit the blend of flavours is immense and therefore a treat for your taste buds. What do they smell like? There is a definite berry scent that dominates over the yoghurt smell. All in all this biscuit smells sweet and fruity. In addition to the Forest Fruit breaks there are other flavours available, too: Strawberry, Plain, Tropical, Rasberry and Blueberry. Those, of course, smell and taste differently. Packaging: The box and the packets are red and have the 'Go Ahead' logo on the front. There is a very detailed picture of the product on the front of the box so you know what you are getting before you buy. As every portion is wrapped separately 'Go Ahead Forest Fruit Yogurt Breaks' are very convenient to take in a bag and what is even better: You know when to stop eating! Nutritional facts: Each biscuit contains 2 g fat and 68 calories. Following a pack of two has 136 calories and 4 g fat. Not bad for such a nice treat I`d say. Ingredients: Flour, fruit filling, sugar, dextrose, ... but also the following: humectant, malic acid, calcium citrate, lecithin, flavourings (unspecified!) glazing agent (unspecified!) ammonium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, disodium diphosphate, Cons: As you can see from above this product seems to contain a lot of artificial ingredients. These are surely added to improve the flavour and look of the biscuits. Go Ahead products are said to be healthy but honestly: I don`t think artificial ingredients are. Another thing some people might find a bit annoying is that bits of the biscuit tend to stick to your teeth for a while after consuming. This may make them unsuitable for denture wearers. Price: Depending on the store you get a six portion box for £1.39 and £1.69. Conclusion: I myself really like this product as it tastes extremely nice. 'Go Ahead Forest Fruit Yogurt Breaks' are reasonably priced, fat/calorie limited and very convenient biscuits. Therefore I`d call them an ideal indulgent treat for busy people that watch their waste. If you are one of those guys who try to avoid artificial ingredients, these biscuits are probably not the best option, though. Anyhow: They are a really nice alternative to ordinary biscuits. |
