Resently Ive bought myself a brand-new car: Toyota Avensis, very stylish looking and with lots of accessories. To make a long story short: I love it and I want to keep it for many years. Therefore I need a sufficient car security which scares people to steal my car. I took advice from my car dealership and they recommended me: DISKLOK as the best car security at the current market, that won several awards: Auto express product winner 2001,2002,2003; "What car?" winner in security test 2003, and reccomended by Maxpower/spring2002 and Revs Magazine winner. Design: Convenient to my car I chose the circular lock in Titanium Silver but it is also available in color: Polished Chrome or Original Yellow, whereby all of them include a FREE matching storage case. The full steering-wheel looks very massive and acts as visual deterrent, thats for sure. I think thieves will think twice when they see it and just walk away. Just fit both ends neatly over your steering wheel and the clamps shut very securely in a matter of few second. Now you can lock it with one of the 3 keys you have. Remember also to carry a spare key with you, because there are about 100 combinations and more to unlock and that is very time-consuming ;). Experiences: I am convinced that Disklok will secure my car against thieves. Firstly the car cant be steered when fitted with the lock (covers the entire steering wheel totally), only half a turn with the bar on one end. Additionally there is no way to brake the cars steering lock. Anyhow in case of attacks, product tests showed that thieves need at least 18 minutes to force the lock and this is actually not possible. The Disklok will spin around your steering wheel as there is around 1/2 a cm of clearance around the lock whilst an (impossible to be unnoticed). Its a great feature to prevent forcing on steeling lock. So safety for sure! The usage is quite easy. Anyhow if you still have problems just have a look in the easily written instruction leaflet. I just need a few seconds to get it on my steering wheel or to remove it. The only disadvantage is the locks shape and weight. It is not very easy to stow it if you are in hurry OR you determine a place in your car where it is not that bulky (e.g. car boot or under the seat). BUT I think the weight is basically important because otherwise it would have to be made of plastic (which is easily bursted by thieves). I had no problems so far: my steering wheel is still all right. And if I had some I could call the service hotline as well as I have a guarantee of 3 years anyway. The price is appropriate. I paid £79.99 (depends on size) for my Disklok which I purchased on the website. I think you can get it cheaper anywhere else but the delivery was for free. Result: I highly recommend this product ecpecially for people who bought a new car. I think it is worth it to invest that money for your car safety. ---> Deserved 5 STARS!
