I`m absolutely hooked on McVities Fruit Shortcake at the moment. They are extremely tasty and- what I like best- not that unhealthy as they are quite low in fat and calories. The following review will give you some facts about these lovely biscuits What do they look like? There are an absolutely crunchy round shortcake biscuit with a frill pattern round the edge. They are full of currants which you can see and a nice sprinkle of sugar on top. What do they taste like? When you first bite into a McVities Fruit Shortcake there is a nice crisp crunch, then it slowly melts in your mouth. This is where you can taste the typical buttery shortcake taste. At the same time you`ll notice the currants, which give these biscuits a very nice and fruity flavour. While chewing the current bits the sugar that has been sprinkled on top is melting. This adds to the sweet taste of the dried fruits. Of course these Fruit Shortcakes are great for dunking into a cup of tea or coffee, too. When you put it in your mouth then it just melts on your tongue. There are only the currants left to chew on. Nutrition Facts per biscuit Calories: 39 Fat: 1.6 Total Carbohydrates: 5.5g Protein: 0,4g Dietary Fibre: 0.2g Packaging and Price McVities Fruit Shortcakes come in a 250g packet which is purple and blue. In the middle there`s the McVities logo written in white bold letters. Also it has a picture showing the shortcake biscuit surrounded by currants. The average price for one pack is 71 p. Allergy advice These biscuits contain Gluten and are produced in an area where milk is handled. All in all, I can only recommend these biscuits. There is nothing negative to tell about. Just enjoy! |
