I bought this backpack several months ago, because we intend to cross the Alps in summer. We did some practicing hikes the last months and also the next months. So I’ve some experiences now with my Deuter. And I like to share them with you. The SL-Editions were designed for women, as of the different formed waist belt, the smaller and shorter shoulder belt. Deuter has this Aircontact system which means the backpack isn’t lying on you back, there is just a mesh which provides comfort while warm air dissipates from the sides. As so you won’t use that much water through sweating and won’t have a cold wet back. The back pack can hold up 60 litre plus 16 litre in additional cases. The back pack has a double layer bottom, which means there is an additional compartment below the main compartment. There are some nice features on the back pack: - two side pockets - two loops for eg. axes or hiking sticks - integrated rain cover When we did some day, overnight and 4 day hikes and we always fit everything in our back packs. I like them, they feel well and you don’t walk crookedly representing a burro. Deuter offers some good packing tips on their website. The back pack isn’t that expensive with about ? 99 in different online shops. I paid a little bit more in a special outdoor shop (? 120), but I got a good expert advice. So I can recommend this pack for hiking tours, but you should buy it in a outdoor shop to see if it’s really fit. |
